Scholastic News will help my students learn about current events by providing engaging and high-interest articles. My existing ELA and Social Studies curriculum is very dated and dry. I want to get my students fired up about reading and learning about new topics! The magazines will provide my students with additional opportunities to practice important language arts skills while also making them more informed readers. I plan on using these to help differentiate my instruction during my small-group ELA time. These magazines are great for discussing cause and effect, problem and solution, and having Socratic Seminars.
