Second graders are explorers by nature and are naturally drawn to creating and building. As a facilitator of language, I want to hone in on their curiosity when it comes to building words. I have a word work center that is void of magnetic letters that I need for my students. This center is a place where my students work every day. A lot of activities I need require magnetic letters. Students will have the ability to create words, follow consonant and vowel patterns. They will be able to work independently, in partnerships, and small groups. This will help them to grow.
