Classroom cubbies allow students to keep their classroom neat, clean, and well organized so that they can feel relaxed and comfortable whenever they enter the classroom. They provide the students a safe place where they can easily store and secure their daily items. Currently, my students backpacks are placed on the back of their chairs. However, they inevitably end up on the floor where I or their classmates end up tripping over the backpack itself or whatever items have fallen out of unzipped backpack onto the floor. Student cubbies are an important part of the classroom. They allow students to keep their papers, backpacks and jackets in one convenient location. These cubbies will eliminate the clutter of having student belongings scattered about the classroom; create a systematic and expected routine each and every morning that helps get our day off to a smooth start; and teach them about being organized without them even realizing it.
