Sensory issues can look like an intense tantrum due to being overwhelmed, showing extreme fear towards loud noises, constantly touching people or different textures even when not socially appropriate, or unable to sit still. I have noticed that my sensory seeking students struggle with not being able to calm down enough to express their emotions or their needs. These sensory tools will allow my students to participate in assemblies without feeling overwhelmed, help them manage their emotions so they can be in class to access their education, and give them a way to learn how to independently calm down. My students are amazing, resilient learners. I am so proud to be a part of this school.
