Getting students to read is becoming a harder and harder goal to accomplish. I have found that Japanese manga is the key to unlocking those reluctant reader's passion for reading. The more students read, the better they will get and the more they will love it. A student's love for reading is one of those immeasurable traits in life but one that will pay dividends right away and down the road. Putting books in students' hands that gets and then keeps their interest is half the battle for reading fluency. I have manga in my school collection, but not enough to meet demand. And the students tear through what I have and ask for more. I don't have the budget to meet the entire demand so I am asking donors to help me get the books to the students that they desperately want.
