Our school doesn't have interactive technology resources for students. I have a laptop, and a projector. The connection for my projector is at my desk, which is on the other side of my classroom from the whiteboard and projection screen, meaning that it's not possible for me to give a presentation and at the same time manipulate any elements of it. Nor are students able to interact with the technology in any way. With an iPad and Apple TV, I would be able to give a presentation from anywhere in the classroom, and also manipulate elements of that presentation; I could demonstrate writing revisions, highlight key text in a reading, or pull up a resource to answer a student's question. I can also hand the iPad to a student to respond to a prompt to find textual evidence, or to correct a sentence, and that student would be able to show what they know to the whole class. Having the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge to the class in a fun and hands-on way through this technology will help them engage more fully in the lesson, and having the ability myself to interact with elements of presentations without going back and forth from the front of the class to my desk will increase the efficiency and flow of the lesson.
