The transformation of education seeks to end inequalities and bring forth a portal of peace, truth, and reconciliation. Multicultural books liberate, transform and allow us to evolve. The more my students become more engaged in multicultural exposure and learning are more likely to graduate and developed critical-thinking skills and self-esteem to advance in their education, communities, and careers. Multicultural literature in the classroom will keep my students motivated and engaged and ultimately help close the reading achievement gap for students of color. My students need grade-level reading material that makes reading and learning history exciting.
