Computer science is a new content required of all Nevada K-12 students. Most teachers do not have the background to teach CS. I provide professional learning to educators on CS concepts, pedagogy, and applications so that the knowledge gap is smaller. Teachers are able to easily implement the skills learned with the confidence needed. Before I can train teachers effectively, I need to boost up my own skills and knowledge. Pathfinders Institute provides the perfect environment to learn, network, and build a community of CS educators that can be shared with everyone in Nevada, including teachers, administrators, and students so that everyone feels successful in computer science.
