My fifth grade students come from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds. This diversity can affect the students understanding of certain novel topics. Having small sets of various novels will allow me to provide my students with books to fit their individual needs. Many students in our building also do not have books of their own to read. I am trying to build a classroom library that will allow the students to check books out and read.
