Playing Pokemon develops critical thinking skills in the same ways as chess. My club focuses on team building strategies that professional Pokemon players use in international competitions. In addition, students develop probability skills and patience. Many students in my Pokemon club cannot afford their own system. I would like to maintain an atmosphere of inclusivity for all my students; This becomes difficult to accomplish when the room divides into those with game systems and those without. Having a couple of 2DS to keep in the classroom would allow more students to play the games. All they would need to supply then is their own copy of Pokemon. Because Pokemon saves each game and not the system, these five systems could be used by any student who needs it for years to come.
