With your kind donation, my students will be able to create traditional altars to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Students will learn about this cultural Mexican tradition through film and article readings. Students will view the movie Coco and read an article describing the history of this tradition and learn about the items included in altars and their meaning. The project will culminate with the creation of their own Day of the Dead classroom altar as they remember with love and respect the loved ones that have passed away. In addition to classroom altars, students will also have the opportunity to showcase their altars in the school library.
