My students love the engaging writing/research projects we do through Google Classroom on our Chromebooks. They also grow so much when they have the opportunity to use Khan Academy to review math and xtramath.com to improve their fact fluency. Now they have the opportunity to begin learning how to write computer code through Code.org. Most programs we use requires students to actively listen. With only a few pairs of headphones in our classroom, it can become a noisy distraction and stall learning. Many of the programs, particularly Code.org, are best with a mouse. The ability to point and click will save my students so much time which can be used for learning and creating.
