Having this sound system will allow for the drummers and mallet players to begin competing in nearby drumline circuits. These kids need this activity to teach them hard work and determination and that same hard work can reap a huge benefit in music... and life. Starting a drumline in our school will bring another source of pride to the school district and community where individual accomplishment is greatly needed. I have been teaching band and Drumline for 25 years and I can see so much potential for our band and Drumline. This is my first year at our school and there is so much need for this activity. The middle school has a smaller amount of interest but there are over 130 beginning band and 22 drummers in the 6th grade. The number will be amazing next year as those students enter Jr. High and I want to be prepared.
