As a first year teacher, it can be hard to buy everything you need to create the learning environment desired for your classroom. The items that I have requested will help me to create an environment that is warm and inviting, as well as provide my students with the ability to take charge of their learning. We currently have balance balls, scoop chairs, and cozy reading nook furniture. I hope to add the items below.
All of the items that have been requested have a specific purpose. The stools are for students who would rather have the ability to sit and stand alternatively while learning. The bed risers are needed to make a table in our room the appropriate height for standers. Floor cushions for students to sit on the floor at low tables. Table lamps and string lights are to provide soft lighting when the lights are out for Smartboard work or when low lighting is needed to create a certain atmosphere (my students don't like the overhead lights). The Norwex cloths are for chemical free cleaning and the Dry erase markers....well you can never have enough.
These are items that I feel are important for my students. I have seen how allowing them to have a choice of where to sit (or stand) helps them to feel comfortable and allows them to work more effectively and efficiently. I hope that I am able to provide an even better learning environment than what we currently have
