My students come to me hungry every day. At the beginning of the year, I purchased a dozen boxes full of treats, breakfast foods, and other snacks planning on using them as a way to reward hard work. However, when my kids come to me telling me they didn't eat breakfast that morning or dinner the night before I cannot turn them away. I feed them because it's the one thing I can change about their day. So far I've completely run out of food for my classroom for this reason. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. I would like to have in my classroom a flexible seating option and an area of comfort. When students have work they can do on their one on one devices they will be able to use this seating area to take a break from their desks. I'm planning on purchasing headphones for each one of my kids as well but I'm waiting to see if I can have my school purchase them for me. The chairs will be placed on the rug, and bookshelves will line the area.
