The ability for our children to select books that they enjoy is a stepping stone to improve literacy. The more our children are actively engaged with books, the more they will learn and be excited about sharing their knowledge. The books will be given out during our "Rocking with Reading" Family Reading Night after our Youth Leadership Team (Grade 4-6) presents the importance of literacy. Family engagement is an important factor to literacy development. When literary success is encouraged and supported by the family, children are more likely to want to read and enjoy reading which well help them to excel in all areas of academics.
