In my class, I have students with Autism, Down Syndrome, and Developmentally Delayed. The sensory tube, texture mat, and sensory box will provide a quiet area for their classroom to help students by providing a calming area for them if they happen to get sensory overload during classroom activities or instruction. The rug and floor cushions will help set up a library area for my students. They will learn how to flip pages and know that words go from left to right on pages. The wooden bead string set and stacking blocks would provide fine motor skills for my students as well. I have seen growth in my students in such a short time of me being their teacher and getting the classroom setup. They have seemed to adjust well with so many inconsistencies for them in the class. I want them to continue to grow and build their confidence every day. These items will enhance their growth so much.
