In a life skills classroom of students with severe disabilities, it is essential to have a wide range of materials to help my students have a successful school day and learning experience. For instance, having access to a sensory chair can help my students work stay motivated and focused. When it comes to learning for any child, one size does not fit all. It is extremely helpful for my students to have access to sensory materials. I teach a self-contained classroom consisting of eight students, two 1:1 aides, one classroom aide, and one teacher. I use a lot of laminating paper to create materials that will last them all year. As a special education teacher, it is a privilege to work with amazing students and parents. Every child deserves the chance to learn. I look forward to continuing to work with the wonderful children and their families. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated.
