Research has shown that allowing students to work on school gardens and natural landscaping provides several benefits. Students learn to focus and patience, cooperation, teamwork, and social skills. Children gain self-confidence and a sense of “capableness” along with new skills and knowledge in food growing. Garden-based teaching addresses different learning styles and intelligence; our struggling readers can blossom in the garden. Achievement scores improve because learning is more relevant and hands-on. Students become more fit and healthy as they spend more time active in the outdoors and start choosing healthy foods over junk food.the schoolyard is diversified and beautified. When our grounds are beautiful students will think twice before littering. My students will work cooperatively with other group is students in designing the garden by learning natural plants the repel insects, they will also learn about when to plant and what to plant according to plant resistance and the weather in central Texas. Items from the cart, like gloves, shears, and seeds will assist students reach their goal to have a producing, beautiful garden at school.
