"Be the change you wish to see in the world." My students always ask me, "When will I ever use math in the real world?" Without realizing they use math every day. Math goes back to the times of Ancient Egypt, to the days where people built infrastructures without any machinery. All they had were basic math skills they use to build one of the oldest structures in the world. I feel this experience will help my students to realize how important math is in history and in our near future. Many of my students come from very diverse backgrounds and do not have many opportunities to experience different cultures. I believe if they are allowed to learn about different cultures and customs, this experience will cultivate their minds to do the impossible. Not only will my students get to see a good show, but they will also get the opportunity to visit a prestigious university in their city and witness a live geographic performance by actual college students. I hope you can help me create a life-changing experience my students will never forget.
