When my theatre students and I were learning remotely last year one of our favorite units was the Puppetry unit. At home they were able to use anything around them they could find. This year, since we (finally!) get to be back in the school building, I wanted to do this unit again, and give students the opportunity to have materials provided for them while still keeping it "covid-safe". Each student will be provided with an individually packaged baggie with all the supplies needed to create their own, unique puppet. We will then use these puppets to help us learn about playwriting basics and character development. The culminating project will be to create a socially distanced, 2 person scene that includes the puppets!
