Most of the students in the resource special education setting require 2 or more hours per day outside of the regular classroom. They can't achieve on their grade level without extensive interventions, modification and accommodations to the instructional material. Content on their grade level is far to rigorous and fast paced and needs much more time being re-taught and taught differently in small groups with a special educator. Using the materials in the project, I can help my students gain critical skills they are deficit in such as reading sight words, blending sounds to form words, even letter recognition, addition /subtraction, gross motor skills and fine motor skills essential to writing and completing daily tasks at school and one day hopefully, work.
