I teach 3rd grade Chinese immersion students, and we write with markers a lot. We practice writing Chinese characters and working on math problems with markers. When instructing or practicing, I would ask students to write their answer on their little white boards and share with their partners. As for Chinese character writing, it's a daily activity, and we spend 5-10 minutes every day practicing the characters. With 48 students total, you could probably imagine why markers are consumed very quickly. The requested supplies will be used in math, Chinese, science and social studies. An easel and chart paper serves great for this purpose: I could have students brain storm certain characters related to one Chinese phonic, and then have them write their characters. After teaching one phonic, the chart paper will go to my wall, and we will start over with a new phonic the next day.
