My students are having their first comprehensive art experience. My goal is to help them see the cultural and academic value in art and tap into their creativity while having loads of fun. We need materials and accessories to make this a reality. A big part of our focus will be creating art that reflects their identities and experiences. Multicultural materials such as paint, markers, and colored pencils will allow my students to create artwork that represents who they are and what they look like. We are working in a very small space and have limited turn around time in between classes, so we will need racks to dry and store work, as well as a place to prep materials and keep them neat for when students come to class. The easels will give them the feeling that they are professional artists and inspire them to tap into their creativity.
