Right now students are doing most of their math out of their books at their desk with few manipulative. I want to give them a colorful, comfortable and fun math center that will bring math alive. Students will be expected to explore math outside of their seats and interact in groups, whether at tables, on the rug, or lightly bouncing on ball chairs. Students will see math class as an exciting time of the day. As students use the math center, they are encouraged to talk in collaborative parters or groups and begin to authentically use math vocabulary by just having fun. Interactive large magnetic teaching aids will help add needed visuals to teach the lessons and make the math pop, as well as needed dry erase boards for independent work, and dividers for testing.
