My students are online learning for the majority of the day. These students have shown determination and the willingness to try their best even when they are not with their peers physically. We have become a tight-knit community and one of our favorite times during the day is our read aloud right after lunch. I have read a variety of books this year to show them a range of books that are available to them. Our favorite class book has been The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. We looked forward to reading this book every day. One of my students even named her newborn chick after one of the characters. Many times, students would beg for me to read just one more chapter. I would love to surprise them with the next book in the series called The Wild Robot Escapes. I am so thrilled they are motivated to read and think this book will keep them interested in reading over the summer.
