In order to create an environment of optimal learning, I hope to provide my students with flexible seating options throughout the day. By introducing flexible seating into my classroom, I hope to allow students the opportunity to work in a space where they feel focused and comfortable. I want my students to feel empowered to choose the space that works best for them. Movement creates increased oxygen to the brain, increasing learning opportunities. I also want them to engage in a behavior that creates community by working alongside peers in a shared space. Traditional seating can be uncomfortable to some of my students. When they are uncomfortable, they are distracted, limiting the learning possibilities.
