I am a 1st year teacher at a brand new site. This technology could change the trajectory of my students' lives by giving them access to online materials and resources. My students respond well to visuals. Chromebooks can help my kiddos who have disabilities access the curriculum for their many learning needs. Some of my students do not have computers at home. These Chromebooks could be the only sources of technology they interact with in a day. I could create interactive group projects during Science and History to help them foster social skills. I will be able to improve our Health unit by showing my students yoga and mindfulness instructional videos to assist their learning. Mindfulness is a huge part of the behavior management plan in my classroom and does wonders for their emotional and mental wellbeing. ELA can come to life for them with music, videos, online games and further reading about different cultures for our current global awareness unit. As my student's learn life-long skills that build their independence and readiness to join the workforce during Vocation, this technology can prepare them for our computer-based world. I would be able to use these Chromebooks across all subjects to share information using Google Drive to impact my students' learning in priceless ways.
