These book bins will help students to keep their book collections organized and safe. We currently use cardboard magazine boxes, and they are not quite sturdy enough for first grade hands to hold on to and move between learning environments. My students have a book collection to share with a reading partner, a collection for guided reading groups and a free choice reading collection that all need a safe place to stay organized and accessible. Helping students learn to organize their learning materials and spaces at this young age helps to build a solid foundation for future learning. Having their book collections readily available encourages and motivates students to read, read, read!
