I meet with students several times a week for reading and phonics lessons. Here they learn to blend consonant clusters and digraphs, spell and pronounce words with two vowels together, and add action word endings such as -ing an -ed. They learn to read and to write contractions and compound words. The more advanced students are honing their summarizing skills. We use pens and paper constantly for group writing and short demonstrations. We need flip charts so we can review past work easily. Your donation will help these students gain confidence and skills so they improve their literacy skills to a level appropriate to their grade.
