As much as my students want to learn, sometimes their little bodies need to move. They spend so much time trying to control the wiggles, they miss out on what the teacher just said. With the sensory items I want to provide for my students, they will have the opportunity to sit on wiggle stools getting all that energy out while still listening to the teacher. When a child becomes overwhelmed by noise or anxiety, they will find an oasis with the many different items that will help calm and redirect them back to learning. Colorado winters often keep students from going outside for a much-needed break. The building blocks and dollhouse will allow them to find mental relaxation away from the noisy classroom so that when it is time to learn, they are ready. My classroom is the go-to place for any student who just needs a mental break. The kinetic sand and fidget cubes will help anyone who needs a chance to turn chaos into calm, a fresh start.
