These materials will be used to create an independent task center. The students will be taught how to independently complete a variety of tasks based on their skill levels. The materials purchased will be the base activities for this center. Using pictures and words the students will gather materials from the center, complete the tasks, and then clean up the materials. Fostering independence in students on the autism spectrum is an essential life skill. Independence is such an important part of their life long educational process. These activities can also build skills that can be transformed into future vocational skills.
