These books will be given to each student before we are closed for Christmas break. Giving the children these books will encourage them to read books at home while we are out. Sending books home will give the parents an opportunity to sit down with their children and create positive childhood memories. Reading to a child for just 10 minutes a day can improve their cognitive development, language skills, and increase concentration. Studies have shown that “the more words that are in a child’s language world, the more words they will learn, and the stronger their language skills are when they reach kindergarten, the more prepared they are to be able to read, and the better they read, the more likely they will graduate from high school.”
