Students who sometimes struggle to sit still or communicate verbally are finding their voices through music. Watching them gain confidence as they explore sounds and rhythms has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nThese music toys have also strengthened our classroom community. Playing instruments together encourages cooperation, sharing, and teamwork. Students are learning how to listen to one another, follow a beat, and work as a group. These resources are helping students learn that it's okay to take a break and use tools to manage big emotions.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were immediately drawn to them. They explored the textures, asked how each item could help their bodies feel better, and were eager to try them out. Our students love the wonderful activities we were able to get. The pizza set and pretend waffle set was a big hit. \r\n\r\nDramatic play is a wonderful way to teach young children language, writing and math skills. They wrote out orders and counted money as they played. The students used their developing language skills to communicate and take orders for pizza. The waffle maker helped encourage all these skills plus we added alphabet pancakes to the area to encourage letter recognition . Children sing a song about alphabet soup and pick a letter from the pot and say its name or letter sound. It is a fun activity that helps all learners to want to learn.\r\n The alphabet acorns are a fun center activity where children match the upper and lowercase letters and put a small toy that begins with that letter inside. It helps with letter sound recognition and upper and lowercase letter knowledge. All the items are so very much appreciated. Children used the sticks to break down onset and rhyme as well as syllables in words. \r\n The scarves are a wonderful addition too. The children love to use them as they dance and to follow movement instructions . We are so grateful for these materials. I had many students wanting to use the new tonies our first day back from break that we had to make a waiting list for taking turns. My Dual Language Learners loved listening to the Coco tonie and the Spanish playtime songs tonie.\r\n\r\nThe carrying case comes in handy because we can easily store all our tonies and have them visible to the students. Also we can put the headphones in the carrying case as well so everything they need to use the tonie is all together.
