The laptops requested will provide my students with the support they need to close their academic gaps. Students will be able to access interactive materials that allow them to practice concepts taught in class. They will be able to complete research on topics that interest them for further learning. Students will also have access to digital books to meet Social Science goals. The use of technology in the classroom is no longer a luxury but a necessity. All of the district-adopted programs across the curriculum offer valuable resources and activities online. However, with the limited amount of funding the schools receive, it is nearly impossible to provide students with digital access to these websites without the proper tools. The laptops I am requesting for my classroom will provide my students with endless learning opportunities. My students will be able to practice, improve, and master their skills in Social Science. The use of technology will allow students to work on skills at their independent level at their own pace. They will have added tools to motivate them to learn as well as meet their individual learning needs. My 87 students will benefit immensely from these laptops as most do not have these tools at home to support their daily learning.
