The use of technology is a daily activity in my classroom. My students use technology to access their reading program which helps increase their literacy skills such as making compound words, identifying long and short vowels, and answering comprehension questions. They also use an online library which opens a whole new world of endless amount of books for them to explore, read, and listen to. An online math program is also used to assist math strategies such as using number lines, practicing double digit addition, and solving word problems. My students are constantly using and exploring different formats of technology, however, we are not yet one-to-one. With your help and generosity you will give my students the opportunity to succeed and grow within all their academic areas. The additional technology items will give the support needed for my students to understand blending sounds or practice counting by 2s. With students being one-to-one, my entire class would be able to practice their individual skills based on their own areas of need. I have seen firsthand how technology and access to resources can change a child's life.
