Students will work together to create a mixed-media group project focusing on cultural identity. Each student's contribution will be unique to themselves, and will contribute to the larger project which will be greater than the sum of its parts, and speak to the concept of community. Students will use fabric, beads, ribbons, clay objects, paint, and fasteners to create pieces which will affixed to a circular ground and suspended in the air. The individual pieces will be free to move, or be surrounded by others, according to the artist's vision. Unity will be achieved by the juxtaposition of disparate parts.
