Students expressed their gratefulness to have the opportunity to have safe home lives, food and shelter. We wanted to make a great impact on the community so some ideas were bounced around. Last year students collected gently worn clothes for the homeless. This year they decided to make an impact within their own age group.\r\n\r\nOur students reached out to Covenant house which is a place that houses homeless youth. The kids created a menu to feed 100 residents at the covenant house using our air fryers that were donated. They not only want to cook in class but cook for the community. Thank you so much for the donations. It has made an impact not only for Warren Easton students in food science class, but an impact in the community within their community.","fullyFundedDate":1746789275709,"projectUrl":"project/shake-and-bake/9078519/","projectTitle":"Shake and Bake","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1559836_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1449678517152","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1559836"},{"teacherId":10106247,"projectId":9524653,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students have been using the new supplies in ways that have really brought our Human Anatomy lessons to life. The colored pencils have helped them label and understand the different parts of the body in a more hands-on way. They also use the markers and large pads to create charts that show how the body systems work together. Seeing their creativity and teamwork grow through these activities has been such a joy.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw everything, they were so excited, especially when they noticed the snacks. The energy in the room completely changed. Those small treats meant a lot and helped make the classroom feel even more positive and welcoming.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, the students will be using what they have learned to create and present detailed anatomy charts. These resources have made learning more engaging and fun while giving them the chance to express what they know in creative ways. I am so thankful for your support and for helping make this experience possible for them.","fullyFundedDate":1758388911921,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-focus-and-freshness-for-future-le/9524653/","projectTitle":"Fuel, Focus, and Freshness for Future Leaders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. A","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10106247_orig.jpg?crop=358,358,x0,y151&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754060991934","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10106247"},{"teacherId":10062587,"projectId":9429844,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation that helped ensure my 9th-grade English classroom began the school year fully stocked and organized. While it may seem like a small gesture, your contribution made an enormous impact on both my students and me.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, I was able to start the year strong with all handouts ready for every student on day one. The copy paper you provided was especially meaningful, as our school experienced a delay in ordering supplies. Having this available allowed me to immediately implement structured lessons and routines that set the tone for success.\r\n\r\nYour donation of headphones has also been invaluable. They allow students with individual learning plans to receive text-to-speech accommodations right in our classroom, without having to be displaced or sent to a different room. This not only preserves their dignity but also strengthens their confidence and engagement in daily learning.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the mini dry-erase boards have transformed our warm-ups and class activities. They encourage every student to participate, take risks, and actively show their thinking which is helping me build confidence, reinforce skills, and keep students motivated as we prepare for end-of-year assessments.\r\n\r\nBeyond materials, your generosity has deepened the sense of support and belonging in our classroom. My students feel seen and valued, and I am reminded that teaching is a collective effort. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping my students start the year with the tools and confidence we need to thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1753896988496,"projectUrl":"project/2nd-year-of-teaching/9429844/","projectTitle":"2nd Year of Teaching!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Matthew","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10062587_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753935064436","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10062587"},{"teacherId":9626002,"projectId":8588470,"letterContent":"My students love to eat and really enjoyed this project. Some frowned on eating refried beans , pico de gallo, mango smoothies, limenade but when they tried it they really enjoyed it.They cooked their own food asked for what they wanted in spanish and sat and ate as a class. My problematic students even behaved theirselves that day . We had to postpone the event three times and they were disappointed when we did because they were so anxious to cook a different dish .
