Many of the students that play in the band are using school instruments because the cost to rent one is so great. These lesson books, reeds and tuba stand will allow us to make music each day. Without these materials, the students will struggle to make music. By alleviating the worry of how they are getting their books, reeds and the tuba stand, the students will be able to focus on expressing themselves, learning a new skill and participating in a music making community. The students wait years to pick out a band instrument to play, and are disheartened when the expense, which is why these materials are so important. Without the books to learn to read music, we are unable to perform for their families and friends and the school community.

About my class
