Students in my room often have delayed fine motor skills and need the assistance of the slant board to improve their hand dexterity. The slant board serves two functions: reducing frustration while writing and building strength in their hands so all fine motor tasks get easier. My goal as a special education teacher is to provide my students the life skills and educational foundation they need to lead successful lives. Being able to write legibly is a key part of my goal. The look of pride and joy on my students' faces when they make a letter or number correctly is a wonderful sight! Currently, I do not have enough slant boards for all of my students. Please help me bring more smiles and pride to children who work hard every day.
