Students tend to have this misbelief that they do not need to "learn" how to calculate as they have this nifty tool called their cellphone that can do the math for them. It is super important for students to have number sense to aid them through various life events. Students often want to know where they will use the math that they are learning and through Scholastic Math, students will get to see how math relates to and solves real-world problems with articles on topics such as architectural wonders and moviemaking. Students rarely have the chance to combine both language art and math. Through the avenue of the current events, I truly believe students will start to see how math surrounds them in different aspects of all their lives.
