Pre-K through 1st graders will study plant and garden critters up-close with hands-on learning tools before they plant an outside edible garden! With the learning tools, students will examine plant parts through cross-section windows and a 3D model, and explore garden friends by catching then watching them close up through magnification windows and a butterfly enclosure. This new familiarity with the plants and garden critters will build their comfort and knowledge of the outdoors in preparation for creating an outdoor garden of their own! This hands-on project is a joint effort between teachers, speech therapists, and occupational therapists.
