I have selected a couple of flexible seats because research has indicated that children who are given the opportunity to choose the way in which they can work (with teacher guidance of course) can positively impact their learning. Flexible seating allows children to be actively engaged in their work because they are given the flexibility to choose their seat and become less disruptive. Passing on my passion and love for reading is my goal for all students! Reading to students on a daily basis is essential in fostering the love for reading. My students favorite part of the day is our read aloud time. They really enjoy the stories and are very engaged. My classroom library selection is very limited and outdated due to funding. My students would really enjoy a renewed and updated classroom library. Technology is an enormous component of our everyday learning. In our school technology is mostly outdated or not functioning properly. Teachers have 1 working desktop that is shared with students for stations and other learning programs. A new ChromeBook would allow the teacher to let students have more access to better and updated technology for projects and small group interactions. It would also allow the teacher to work more efficiently in lesson planning, lesson preparation and even assist in hassle free one on one student testing.
