Students in my class have been challenged to work collaboratively, work through frustrations, failures, celebrations, and accomplishments in this Leadership class. Leadership students are tasked with bringing our school and community together, despite a fractured history which they inherited. The disco strobe ball and led party lights will help them fulfill the vision for creating events, celebrations, and gatherings for the entire school community and for the community-at-large. Students in my class are charged with lifting up the leadership skills in their peers, even though they may not see it within themselves. In this way, our young people practice and model creating and supporting their class community, and apply these skills to create events and gatherings that will bring the community together and lift them up as well.
