The project, Readers Reading, is about suppling students with new and exciting classroom books that engage and challenge the readers. Once a month, I do a small project that demonstrates why the students should read this book. The student's initial excitement and interest over these books are what gives them the drive to read. However, with the excitement over one book, the line and waitlist to check it out can be months long. This wait can make the student forget the initial excitement. Therefore, I need more books with either the same type of genre or author. After a student has finished reading a classroom book, they will then give their own demonstration of the book. I will allow for three different options and the student will be able to pick the option best suited for themselves. Each option will have a rubric for the student to follow and will be graded on a 1-4 scale. Thankfully, books have a long life span with repairs being as quick and easy as a piece of tape. These books will be around for a very long time both in my classroom and in the minds of those who read them.
