Many children with autism have sensory feeding needs. I run a feeding group to help these students tolerate different foods. I am requesting materials that will make a difference by allowing me to target feeding skills using materials my students may see day to day. Simple things such as plates, utensils, and cups will help my children meet their goals while saving the environment with less disposable items. Items such as the requested food grinder will allow me to make my own healthy purees to target and use with the students. Items like the cutting board and knives will better allow me to prep food that will be used such as fresh fruit. Placemats will help my students remember where their plate belongs while we explore foods that may be hard for them to even look at due to sensory aversion. Seating cushions and therabands help to calm the sensory system while exploring challenging items. Parents supply food items or I purchase myself. Please help me supply other needed materials to my students.
