We have just introduced purposeful play into our classrooms this year. I have seen them go from working on individual tasks to communicating and solving problems together. I have seen my students begin to create imaginary worlds and working collaboratively with their peers. Play is how children learn and it is its own method of instruction. I want to be able to support this opportunity. However, I do not have much to offer. I want to use this dramatic play kitchen set to open up more opportunities to learn and reach various standards. In addition, this will allow creativity, flexible thinkers, and develop core social skills.
