The materials that I am requesting will be going into our school Mindfulness Room. The students at my school face a great number of mental health issues. For this reason, our school is focusing on Social Emotional Learning this year and working on teaching weekly lessons that focus on improving mental health. The Mindfulness Room will not only serve as a space for the campus to practice mindfulness, but will also contain resources to help teachers guide their students in Social Emotional lessons, it will have spaces for class meetings, and offer a space for students to focus, meditate, or simply cool down. Students will be using the materials to aid in Social Emotional Learning lessons, which include dealing with stress, sharing your feelings, and anxiety. The room will also provide with a space for students to focus on themselves and apply the social emotional skills being taught in the school. Currently, the Mindfulness Room is lacking supplies needed for students. The room will get set up with various areas to help aid in improving student's mental health.
