Having these two sets of VersaTiles in my classroom, will ensure that my students are not only engaged during our ELA and Math centers but are also being challenged beyond their comfort levels! Having thirty minutes of centers for each block, can be a bit boring or become a chore for the students. Lack of engagement after ten minutes, can result in side conversations, misbehaviors, and turning in work that is subpar. Having the VersaTiles in the classrooms not only allows the students to be challenged based on the content in the workbooks, but students also get to check their work by themselves! They can check the back of the VersaTiles case, look at the pattern, and, check it with the answer key in the pages! Students can then self-correct the problems they got wrong and be aware that they need to take their time or relearn that skill. Sadly, many times throughout our centers; students will come up to my group; disrupting the learning, to ask me the dreaded question: "I'm done. What do I do now?" This not only worries me that they are rushing to finish the work, but that it was too easy as well. VersaTiles come with challenging problems in their pages to push the students but also keep them engaged to get the pattern right! By donating to my project, you are not only helping my students become more engaged during our centers, but you are helping the class be challenged beyond their limits. They deserve the best items to promote and foster their learnings, while being challenged, and engaged! VersaTiles will help end the paper and pencil worksheets that the students they are so used to now!
