We are fortunate enough at our school to be one-to-one with iPads in our classroom. Osmo Kits will enhance my current math curriculum. I use the Math Expressions program, and each chapter has certain Osmo activities that go with it, such as fraction and money counting practice in the Osmo Pizza Company Game. These activities are specifically designed to target critical skills that students may find challenging to learn in traditional ways. Osmo kits would allow students to work collaboratively to complete these activities which results in collective learning and will provide the necessary intervention and enrichment each student requires. In addition, students will build 21st Century skills such as collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication while integrating technology. A variety of word play activities will also complement my literacy program. For example, students can practice building words and solving word puzzles in Osmo Words, increasing their vocabulary and spelling skills. This targeted time devoted to developing foundational language skills contributes to the overall proficiency of our students as readers and writers. The wobble chairs and cushions requested are examples of flexible seating to help keep them engaged.
